Top Ten Tuesday: Books I'd Like to See Made into Movies

It's (or was, since I'm slow to post...) Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday! My favorite blogging day of the week (and the only one I'm realllly likely to abide by...). Top Ten Tuesdays is an meme hosted by the always lovely The Broke and the Bookish which encourages book bloggers to share lists and start conversations about some of their favorite tidbits and trivias from their reading lives. This week's theme is:

Top Ten Books I'd Like to See Made Into Movies

1. The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King. Production companies have been flirting with taking this series to the silver screen for almost twenty years now. Granted it's a sweeping epic that (in truly twisted King-ean fashion) crosses and re-crosses multiple genres and plays host to a whole crew of crazy characters... but the DT books have such a devoted following that I'm sure a well-made series would be a huge success. Viggo Mortenson as Roland? Yes? Yes?

2. The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak.

3. American Gods by Neil Gaiman. This may already be in the works... but if it's not IT SHOULD BE

4. The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

5. Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

6. A true-to-book version of Ella Enchanted. NOT that god awful Anne Hathaway nonsense

7. Any of the Tamora Pierce series-- though I'd be particularly interested seeing the Song of the Lioness books on the big screen

8. The Famished Road by Ben Okri

9. The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt

10. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith!!!

  1. The Dark Tower series on the big screen would certainly be an epic series - it would take a special director, probably one who was a gan of the series, for it to be done right. Would love to see it though.
